FREE WALK-IN PREGNANCY TESTING
This is a FREE service offered at our Center for Women’s Health, 440 Seaview Ave., Staten Island, NY 10305
Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 4:00pm.
This is a urine pregnancy test. You will be asked to give a fresh urine sample to be screened for pregnancy.
The test takes approximately 3 minutes.
The results of the pregnancy test will be shared with you as soon as they are available. Negative tests will be supported with information and education about all methods of contraception that are available to you (behavioral, barriers, hormonal and LARCs). Positive tests will be supported with information, education and referrals through formal pregnancy options counseling (prenatal care, abortion services or adoption/foster care referrals). We understand that this can be a challenging time, no matter what you decide. We will never tell you which choice to make, but our multidisciplinary team is here to fully support your decision.
These services are, as with all of our services, Patient Centered, Confidential and Voluntary.
What will happen at the visit?
When you arrive at the health center you will register at the front desk. A Medical Assistant will then bring you to a room where you will meet with a Health Educator. The Health Educator will ask you questions regarding your concerns and answer any questions you may have. You will be asked to give a urine sample for the pregnancy test. The test will be done in the exam room, with you present. Results will come back in three to five minutes. Once you have received your pregnancy test result, you will speak with a Health Educator and/or Medical Provider who can provide appropriate referrals for that result. If you are pregnant and want to continue the pregnancy, we will refer you to prenatal services. If you do not want to continue the pregnancy, we will refer you to abortion services. Teen RAP itself does not provide prenatal or abortion care.
Is the test confidential?
Yes. While we always encourage our patients to speak to a trusted adult about their questions and concerns, all sexual and reproductive health care, including pregnancy testing, is confidential.
How much does a pregnancy test cost?
Teen RAP offers FREE and CONFIDENTIAL pregnancy testing.
